    Dr. Muhammad Shafique Tahir

    Dr. Tahir is a Child & Adolescent and adult Psychiatrist.

    Dr. Tahir is an American Qualified General (Adult) and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. He had his Adult Psychiatry training at Columbia University New York affiliated Creedmoor psychiatric center and had his Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at Weill Cornell University Hospital New York. Before coming to Dubai Dr.Tahir was working as Assistant Professor and Assistant Unit Chief and he was Leading Multidisciplinary Treatment Team at New York Presbyterian Hospital, The University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell White plains Westchester Division New York U.S.A.

    Dr. Tahir is an expert in treating Children, Adolescent, and Adults with variety of conditions including: Acute and chronic mental illnesses, ADHD, Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, Autistic spectrum disorder (PDD), Major depression, Eating disorder, Oppositional defiant disorder, Conduct disorder, Other psychotic disorders, Impulse control disorders, Anxiety disorders, Panic disorder, Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive disorder, Conversion disorders, Tic disorder, Physical Symptoms of Mental Illness, Substance abuse and others.

    Dr. Tahir is an expert in using all available treatment modalities, ranging from but not limited to use of: Psychotropic Medications, Individual psychotherapy, Cognitive behavior therapy approach, Family therapy, Couple’s therapy, Using playgroup approach for young children, School Consultation, Leading parents guidance groups, and social skills group for Children.

    Dr. Tahir Published Numerous papers in Peer Review American Journals, and he delivered lectures, community informative talks, School Consultation and Guidance programs.
